Subjects not in plan?
Is your plan not displaying tasks as it should? Try these steps to get the plan back and working.
Note: Adapt’s algorithm is set up to spread all of the topics you need to cover for a subject between today and your exam date (while prioritising the most important for you). This may mean that some days you do not have a subject planned, even when you have said you want to study that day. This is normal.
For example, if you have 30 topics left for a subject and 60 days to study them (30 / 60 = 0.5), you will only be given 1 topic every other day, so half of the days will not have that subject planned!
1. Make sure we have your subjects!
Check if we have topics for your subject by opening it in the Subjects tab. If your subject doesn't come up when you search for it, check that you have the correct name (ask your teachers!) If we don't have topics, you can request them in the Subjects tab.
Please note these common mistakes with GCSE/A level subjects:
✔️ Photography 📸 is not its own subject- it's an option within Art and Design. If you're taking Photography, add Art and Design and select the Photography option.
✔️ Philosophy 📚is not its own subject- it's an option within Religious Studies. If you're taking Philosophy, add Religious Studies and select the Philosophy option.
✔️ GCSE Product Design 📝 is now called Design and Technology.
2. Try the following tech fixes
✔️ Close the app
Exit the app, double tap your home button (or press, hold and swipe up from iPhones without a home button) and swipe away Adapt to restart it.
Then, open the app, and try it again.
✔️ Log out and in
Go to your Profile (image icon at the top right of the dashboard), scroll down and click ‘Log Out’ to sign out of your account.
Try to sign back in with your credentials and see if it fixes the issue.
Note: this often will fix issues where the app is not syncing with Adapt’s servers properly.
✔️ Uninstall and reinstall the app
Press and hold on the Adapt icon on your homescreen, tap ‘Rearrange Apps’ and then click the X to uninstall Adapt.
Go back to TestFlight (or, after January, the App Store) and redownload Adapt.
You can then log in with the same credentials and all of your information will be stored.
3. Refresh timetable
Pull down the timetable to bring the spinning wheel. This will ask the server to re-deliver your plan!
4. Delete & re-add subject
There’s a chance you have a ‘corrupt’ subject. It’s worth trying to delete and re-add it by going to Subjects, pressing ‘Edit’ and clicking the delete button next to the subject.
You can then click ‘Add New Subject’ and type it in to add it back to your plan.
Note: this will delete your data for that subject (confidence ratings, times covered, etc) so this is only recommended if you have not yet completed part of your plan.
